Thank you for your suggestion.

It works now.

However when it asked to restart I did so, I left it and went for a coffee etc. When I came back it was trying to do a complete restore. Which of course I did not want.

So I cancelled that and the repair start-up continued for some time then claimed it could not repair the computer asked me to send details to MS which I did then it powered down.

Fearing the worst I re-booted and it came back ok and the Trust webcam is working correctly.

Thanks once again.

I am not having much luck with WIN 7 and I hear from a number of friends they are having similar problems..
